“Cicero’s Challenge” is India’s largest International Inter School debate competition. Cicero’s Challenge is largest not only in terms of prize money but it is the largest in terms of numbers of countries that participates at the event.

It was the year 2007 that our event, Cicero’s Challenge went international for the first time. The participation of various South Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the UAE ensured that the event was not only a huge success, but also widely appreciated across the academic community.

Participants at Cicero’s Challenge 2008 included school students from more than 16 countries around the world, covering nations like France, South Africa, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Austria, Sri Lanka, Dubai, Singapore, Switzerland, Italy, Mauritius, Turkey, Slovenia and Muscat. These bright minds, ranging between the ages of 14 to 19 years of age, fought for the grand prize of Rs. 1 Lakh.

Keeping the high quality of participants in mind, we had invited some very eminent personalities to judge the finals of the debate. It is important for students at this age to be exposed to people they can admire and look up to, and we were honoured to have individuals like Mr. Rajat Sharma, Ms. Deepika Jindal, Ms. Sulajja Firodia Motwani and Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri lending their expertise to the event.
